Crystal Structure
The real samples usually have excess Fe at the interstitial sites of the Te layer, forming Fe1+yTe composition. Such excess affects the magnetic and electronic transport properties.
Structural property summary
- Single crystal form: silver color, metallic luster, square/rectangle facets
- Structure type: Layered, P4/nmm (room temperature)
- Air sensitivity: stable
- Exfoliation: Yes but not very easy
Transport Properties
Resistivity- Temperature dependence
- Jump around 70K due to antiferromagnetic/structure transition
- This transition temperature can be lowered by increasing the interstitial Fe content
- The metallic behavior in the low T AFM state can be tuned to localization behavior by increasing the interstitial Fe content
Magnetic Properties
Magnetization- Temperature dependence
Note: Antiferromagnetic below 69 K.
